About this questionnaire

The Affinity for Technology Interaction (ATI) scale measures a stable personal tendency: whether you actively engage with technical systems or prefer not to go deeper than you need to. It was developed by Thomas Franke, Christiane Attig and Daniel Wessel (2019) and is widely used in human-computer interaction and usability research to describe who took part.

“Technical systems” means apps and other software, as well as whole digital devices such as a phone, computer, TV or car navigation.

Scoring: answers are coded 1–6, three statements are reversed, and your score is the mean of all nine (1 to 6). Higher means more affinity for technology interaction.

Before you start

For reflection, not diagnosis. This is a self-report questionnaire. It cannot diagnose any condition, and it is not a basis for hiring, admission or any other decision about a person.

Private by default. Everything runs in your browser. Your answers are not saved or sent anywhere unless you choose, before starting, to share them anonymously for site statistics.

Provided as is. A personal project, free and with no warranty. Not connected to any institution I work with.
